I am not a techie so I am always a litle fearful about trying new electronic devices. I was relieved that all I had to do is plug this in and select the files to copy. I didn’t need to download any software.

This portable hard drive was very useful when transitioning from my old laptop to a new one. It backed up the information from the old laptop very quickly and downloaded it to the new computer just as fast.

At 3 inches by 4.5 inches, this hard drive is same size as my 60 GB hard drive (a Western Digital Passport) but has nearly 9 times the memory. The metal case feels very sturdy and weighs only 6.15 ounces so I will not hesitate to carry it around with me as necessary. *I realize these statistics differ from those on the product page but I double-checked both the dimensions and the weight.

I found it helpful that the USB cord is two feet long. That is a vast improvement over my smaller hard drive’s cord which is less than a foot long. This cord also has two USB connectors in case a “computer does not provide sufficient USB power” through just one USB connector. No external power source is necessary.
